1.   What is your favorite part of working at our company?

I love the people at Ostendio who are all so enthusiastic and invested in the mission of the company.  From a personal perspective, I love the flexibility that I have as a remote employee. I can enjoy walking my dog in the morning instead of driving to work.

2.   What do you like most about the work we do here?

Working in the tech industry is always exciting because things change on a daily basis. Technology is constantly improving and we need to work hard to keep up with the new ways we can use those improvements to help our clients.

3.   What are you most proud of in your career so far?

In the past, I’ve participated in some pretty high-stakes media announcements including a joint venture announcement in Tokyo with two international telecom companies. Right now, I am really enjoying the work that Ostendio is doing with regard to giving back to local communities. I enjoy being a member of our “Culture Club” and having time to volunteer. Ostendio gives all employees 6 days of paid leave to volunteer and that flexibility has helped me balance work, home life, and volunteering. 

4.   How would you describe your company culture?

The words I would use to describe our culture are inclusive, friendly, and progressive.  

5.   What's one thing people don't know about you that they would be surprised to find out?

I wanted to be a radio journalist and studied broadcast journalism. However, my first career job ended up being in the corporate communications world and I followed that path instead. Now I just enjoy listening to good podcasts and appreciate the work that the journalists put into producing those shows every day. 

6.   If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

I have this conversation with my kids all the time!  I think we’ve all decided that being able to teleport from one place to another is the best superpower.  When traveling on vacation I wouldn’t have to worry about flight delays or long road trips. With my teleporting superpower, I could suddenly arrive in Scotland for a weekend or suddenly decide to be on a beach in Thailand for an afternoon. How much fun would that be!?

7.   What energizes and drains you when you’re at work?

The enthusiasm of my colleagues energizes me. I love working in a collaborative environment. I love the brainstorming sessions we have in the marketing team because everyone is so creative. The main drain I find is being tired, so I try to get 8 hours of sleep a night!

8.   Name a role model who has inspired you in your career

I’ve been lucky to have several role models at work and in my personal life. As a career role model, one of my first managers at AT&T where I was first hired into the Public Relations team was very influential in my career. He made me trust my instincts and capabilities and helped with my career development. He also made work fun and gave me some perspective. In my personal life, it would be my mother who was always so positive and upbeat about her life. Her genuine interest in other people and her support of my adventurous travels really influenced my path in life.
